Lake Forest Hills is a friendly and diverse gated community on the southeast side of Shreveport, Louisiana's beautiful Cross Lake. The subdivision started in the 1950's and has about 30 homes, many of which have direct lake access. For properties off the lake, Melvin’s Landing offers launch facilities and boat storage and Shreveport Yacht Club offers unequaled lake opportunities. The neighborhood is home to a diverse group of friendly and community-minded families from young with children to retirees.
The neighborhood is in Caddo Parish but sits just outside the city limits of Shreveport. Lake Forest Hills is the most convenient community on Cross Lake to downtown Shreveport (less than 4 miles) and is also close to local grocery and drug stores. Bylaws and covenants protect our investment while encouraging the freedom of lake living. The community receives water and sewer service as an outside account from the City of Shreveport which is metered at cost to members. Reasonable dues are charged quarterly to maintain and improve the property.
The neighborhood has a seasonal pool for neighbors and their guests to use as well as a playground and picnic area. An annual business meeting is held in the park every October as well as planned and unplanned community gatherings.
Properties rarely are available in Lake Forest Hills because they often pass on to family. There is undeveloped property owned by Ruth Woodman (318-426-5263) which is platted and falls under the conditions of our bylaws and covenants.
